Splinter is an online magazine of theory, culture, and politics. Founded in 2023, it emerged out of the rapidly dwindling intellectual spaces of British higher education, caught between a neoliberal assault under the terms of marketisation, on the one hand, and a neoconservative moral panic, on the other. By offering a space for diverse forms of writing, we intend to pull together some of the fragments of the imploding university system, re-situating theory outside of the protocols of academic knowledge production and thus permitting a greater proximity to the ‘real movement’ of history.
If you’d like to support our work, please follow us on social media, subscribe to our Substack below on free or paid tiers, or make a one off donation here. Splinter has no pay walls, and is done entirely out of the pocket of our editorial team, so any support – financial or otherwise – is much appreciated.
We are always on the look out for more pieces, but unfortunately we cannot (as yet) offer a fee. Please email pitches or finished submissions to the contact email in the masthead as Google Documents files. The best guide to what we tend to commission is the work already on the site.
